A fun miniature house on wheels is driving around Amsterdam. Jouw Huis van Morgen (Your House of Tomorrow) helps Amsterdammers learn about ways to save energy and improve sustainability at home.

Starting a conversation
Though the City of Amsterdam provides plenty of information online about how to live more sustainably, Amsterdammers often know little about the subject. So we held a pressure cooker session with the city, and together we came up with the idea for Jouw Huis van Morgen. The unique mobile dwelling, with miniature furnishings, lively videos, and ivy and graffiti on its walls, is designed to start a conversation with local residents in an accessible way.
A greener future
With Opera Amsterdam and Gado Gado Filmproducties we produced the media for the house. Six screens – or “front windows” – invite local residents to come closer and discover the world of sustainable living. A film plays on each screen, showing people working to make their homes more environmentally friendly. There are also interactive elements, such as a game that helps players to see how sustainability improvements can save money. The city can adapt the content to suit the needs of different districts and target groups. Thus, Jouw Huis van Morgen contributes to a greener future by helping to make an important subject accessible for everyone.
