Wonders of Diversity
University Museum of Bergen, Bergen (NO), 2021
Biodiversity makes life possible. Nature is an astonishingly complex system of interdependencies.
The forest of life
The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the medicines we take – they’re all the result of a healthy planet. In the University Museum of Bergen’s new permanent exhibition ‘Wonders of Diversity’, visitors can walk through ‘the forest of life’ and discover how important biodiversity is for life on earth.
Observe, study and act
Human actions are causing biodiversity loss on an unprecedented scale. To address the problem, we must study and understand the life around us. Knowing which organisms exist, how they live and how they’re evolving enables us to protect them. This is why biologists work to amass information on earth’s various life forms, building on the ideas of Linnaeus and Darwin. Their research is of vital importance.
